Our approach

Transport

Unless an organisation runs its own fleet, it will not be mandatory to submit data on transport as emissions for this activity are generally considered to be indirect – Scope 3. The West of England Carbon Challenge focuses on the emissions within members' control.


We do, though, strongly encourage all organisations to begin recording their transport data. This information can also be submitted to a dedicated section of the site, to be converted into emissions figures. Transport data is notoriously difficult to track but in time, we hope this process will help organisations to report as accurately on their transport emissions as their energy emissions.
